Walk A Mile In My Shoes
This fundraiser is to commemorate that which we have lost and the strength we hope to gain as we rebuild not only infrastructure but ourselves after Hurricane Dorian.
3 miles - the amount of days Hurricane Dorian lingered within The Bahamas
62 miles - the length of the Abaco Sea also known as Abaco Sound which form a chain of barrier islands which are called Abaco Cays
87.3 miles - the distance between Abaco and Grand Bahama
90 miles- the length of Great Abaco
95 miles- the length of Grand Bahama
1 mile = $1
Ration Meal Challenge
In times of conflict, drought, or other crisis, people need food fast. One way to ensure that they get the food they need to survive is through the distribution of ration meals.
What is a typical ration meal? The World Health Organization says a typical ration consists of 450 grams of cereal, 50 grams of pulses, 50 grams of oil, and 5 grams of iodized salt per person per day.
In refugee camps around the world, people are given rations that may consist of items such as beans, rice, sorghum, maize, oil, and salt. For the Ration Meal Challenge, we are encouraging participants to prepare the recipe below.
Join us in taking the Ration Meal Challenge!
